Innsworth Gateway Project – find out more!

Anyone wanting to know more about the new roundabout on the A40 Gloucester Northern Bypass between Elmbridge and Longford is welcome to attend a further drop-in session being run at Innsworth Community Hall from 3pm to 5.30pm on Wednesday 9 January, 2019.

The Innsworth Gateway Project was introduced to support housing development at Innsworth. A key element of the project is also an upgrade Longford Roundabout, increasing its capacity to accommodate predicted future traffic flows and helping to relieve existing congestion.

The drop-in session will include:

  • Sketches of the designs
  • Funding information
  • A description of the build proposal
  • An indication of the timing and duration of build

At the event, members of the public will have the opportunity to review the proposed improvements to the A40 and ask questions.

Neighbourhood Plan Consultation

The Public Consultation on the Neighbourhood Plan for Churchdown and Innsworth has been extended to 11th December, so there is still time to make a response. You can do this online on the Plan website: https://churchdownandinnsworthplan.co.uk/

Or you are welcome to attend one of the consultation events, as follows:-

Tesco, Cheltenham Road East, Friday 30th November to Monday 3rd December

Imjin Community Centre, Thursday 6th December, 9.30 to 11.30 am

Innsworth Junior School Xmas Fayre, Friday 7th December 3.30 to 5.30 pm

Also, if you are curious about the Plan, but not sure whether to respond, you are very welcome to call in to the Parish Office at Innsworth Community Hall on Monday or Wednesday morning, 9.30 to 11.30 am to have a chat to the Clerk, Ruth Warne.

The Plan is important as it is our chance to influence future development in Innsworth, and have a say in the community facilities which will be provided.

Thanks to the County Council for improving Whelan’s Way!

Some months ago Innsworth Parish Council highlighted to the County Council the very poor condition of Whelan’s Way (Ash Path) which runs between Innsworth and Churchdown.

Resurfacing of the path and cutting back of vegetation has now been done.  The standard is much improved, and thanks are due to the County Public Rights of Way Department for their very good work – and to County Councillors Phil Awford and Jack Williams for contributing their Highways Local monies to this project.

It’s now a pleasure to walk down this path!
